Before the show officially airs, Christian Lee is seen in the locker room putting on his elbow pads. There is a knock at the door and “Super” Benny Starr walks in wearing a white dressing gown.
CHRISTIAN: Listen, Benny. I won the match fair and square. If you wanna…
STARR: I’ve not come to talk about that. It’s about tonight. Y’see… I feel like I’ve been screwed out of main eventing Genesis. Tonight is my last chance.
CHRISTIAN: And?
STARR: Well, I have a proposition for you. You have a big match tonight, so if I help you…
CHRISTIAN: I don’t need your help.
STARR: Think of it this way. Pain has been here for years. He’s had more titles than I’ve eyebrow waxes. He’s main event about a million Genesises… Genesi? Gene… events. Don’t you think it’s about time for the next generation?
Christian appears to be taking an interest as Benny walks towards the door before turning back. Christian does not give an answer and merely continues to get ready.
STARR: Let’s make it an all Hollywood main event.
Benny exits and the scene switches to the arena. “Sparkle and Shine” by Econoline Crush begins, signalling the start of the show. The camera turns to the announcers’ table.
BETHEA: Hello and welcome to the first Live-Wire of 2010. I’m Ernest Bethea here as always with Sam Strachon.
STRACHON: We’ve only just come into the decade and already… everybody’s talking about FWF.
BETHEA: A few weeks ago, Christian Lee debuted on Stampede TV coming out as the first entrant in the Blizzard match.
STRACHON: He made it all the way to the end, eliminating “Dragonfly” Danny T.
BETHEA: And tonight, Danny will try to redeem himself as they go one on one.
STRACHON: Also at Blizzard, Pain kept his undefeated streak, his title and his job and came out $1,000,000 richer as he beat Mr. Hollywood, Benny Starr.
BETHEA: Tonight is Benny’s last chance to main event Genesis as he challenges Pain for the World Championship.
“Just Close Your Eyes” plays as golden pyro explodes and drips down from the titantron as Christian Lee walks out at the top of the ramp with his arms out to sides spinning around as if in aura of himself. He makes his way down the ramp and silver and gold pyro setd off all along either side of him as he struts his way down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope to the ring. He then climbs the turnbuckle and raises his arms and beats on his chest. He drops down then makes his way towards the ropes and stands on the middle rope and taunts the fans. The music dies down and he removes the shades and hands them to the referee to place somewhere safe.
CHARLES: The following match scheduled is for one fall. Introducing first …from Hollywood, California …weighing in at 274 pounds …Christian Lee!
A purple light surrounds the arena as "Poison" by Alice Cooper plays. After a moment, Danny T. enters the arena. He runs to one side of the stage with the crowd cheering, and then to the other. He then begins to walk down the ramp, slapping a few hands of the fans on the way before walking up the ring steps and ascending the turnbuckle from the outside where he shoots his fist into the air.
CHARLES: And his opponent …from the Dungeon …weighing in at 229 pounds …he is the FWF Universal Champion …”Dragonfly” Danny T.!
The bell sounds and the two lock up. Immediately, Danny takes Christian into a wristlock. Christian rolls over his shoulder and grabs Danny’s arm, twisting it. Danny quickly uses his free hand to grab Christian and throw him over with an arm drag. They get up and Christian arm drags Danny.
BETHEA: Both Warriors seem to be going down the same path.
Danny gets up and Christian tries to throw him over with a hiptoss, but Danny lands on his feet before pulling Christian over into a backslide pin. …1 …2. Christian kicks out. He gets up and goes for a clothesline, but Danny ducks and rolls him up. …1 …2. Christian kicks out again.
STRACHON: Looks like the Universal Champion is trying to get an early victory over the number one contender to the World title.
Both men get up and Christian kicks Danny in the stomach before hooking his head. He is about to take him over for a suplex, but Danny counters with a small package pin. …1 …2. Christian kicks out and rolls to the outside.
BETHEA: Christian doesn’t seem to like this.
STRACHON: It’d annoy me too. I wish he’d stop.
BETHEA: It’s the object of the game, Sam… you have to pin your opponent.
STRACHON: I never saw you doing that when you were wrestling…
Danny raises his arms as the crowd cheer. A “DDT” chant begins. As Christian is catching his breath, Danny bounces off the ropes. He then leaps over the top rope and to the outside with a suicide dive.
STRACHON: Shit, he can fly!
As Christian is getting up, Danny Irish-whips him towards the ring post, but Christian reverses and sends Danny towards it, but Danny puts his foot out to stop him running into it. Christian then runs at him, but Danny moves and Christian hits the ring post.
BETHEA: Oh! Straight into the solid steel. That must’ve taken something out of him.
Danny picks Christian up and rolls him into the ring before jumping up onto the apron. He then springboards and leaps at Christian, hitting the Dragonfly. He goes for the cover. …1 …2 …Christian kicks out.
STRACHON: And he’s still in this thing.
As Christian is getting up, Danny ascends the turnbuckle. He then leaps off, going for a missile dropkick, but Christian moves out of the way and Danny hit’s the referee, knocking him down.
BETHEA: Referee down!
As Danny is getting up, Christian grabs him and hooks him in the Glamour-Slam position. Before he has chance to hit the move, Danny jumps up into the crucifix position and hooks Christian’s head in mid-air before taking him down with the Dungeon DDT.
BETHEA: What a beautiful counter by the DDT Kid.
Danny covers, but the referee isn’t quite up. “Super” Benny Starr makes his way out.
BETHEA: What the? It’s Benny Starr?
STRACHON: Yes it is!
He quickly gets into the ring and tries to hit Danny with the Super Strike, but Danny ducks. He then grabs Benny’s legs and trips him up before locking in the Sharpshooter. Benny taps out frantically.
BETHEA: Well that backfired.
Danny releases and Benny gets out of the ring. The referee begins to get up as the crowd cheer. Danny turns around and from out of nowhere, Christian nails the Star Struck. He covers. …1 …2 …3.
CHARLES: The winner of the match …Christian Lee!
STRACHON: And that’s two HUGE victories so far by Christian Lee.
BETHEA: Thanks to Benny Starr. But the question is, will Christian return the favour tonight in our main event? Stay tuned to find out.
CHRISTIAN: Listen, Benny. I won the match fair and square. If you wanna…
