BETHEA: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Live-Wire. I am your host, as always, Ernest “The Beast” Bethea.
BRIGGS: And I’m TB, Tom Briggs. Tonight, we have a show that should be on pay-per-view.
BETHEA: Absolutely, in our main event, we have the Iron Man champion, King of Kings going one on one with Sah'ta Thor.
BRIGGS: James Bohne will say his farewell in the ring tonight, but not after his final match: his opponent... the returning Nerina Rivers.
BETHEA: And you can’t forget their history, TB.
BRIGGS: Beast, at Jealousy, Pain became the fifth inductee into the FWF Hall of Fame. You should know, you inducted him.
BETHEA: A proud American, but tonight, he will in a British ring, here in Birmingham, England.
BRIGGS: Also tonight, by orders of Chris Sharp, Prozac will be forced to apologise to “Super” Benny Starr for his actions at Jealousy. And rightly so.
BETHEA: We’ve seen Benny getting worked up over this as of late... how will he cope with the confrontation with two weeks left until their match at Hotter than Hell?
BRIGGS: I have no idea, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon, as here he comes.
A pink light surrounds the arena as “Simply the Best” by Tina Turner plays. After a while, Mark Briggs hops out with a grin on his face as the crowd boo. He adjusts his collar and gestures towards the entrance. The chorus kicks in and Benny enters. White lights flash among the pink as the two begin to stroll down the ramp. Briggs gets into the ring. Benny waits a while before leaping onto the apron. He then springboards and lands on one knee before shooting to his feet and throwing his fist into the air.
JENKINS: The following match scheduled is for one fall. Introducing first, from Hollywood; the Capital of the World ...lead to the ring by Mark Briggs ...weighing in at 236 pounds ...he is the FWF Hollywood Champion ...“Super” Benny Starr!
The lights turn out, and a viral-style video hits the screen, to the sounds of Machine Head’s “Declaration”. Once the video subsides, there is a momentary lull, followed by a thunderous drum beat, signaling the start of “Davidian” by Machine Head. The opening guitar riff sounds, and is accompanied by an explosion of fireworks. “The” Ross Walker stands at the top of the entranceway, his head bowed, his arms forming an “X” shape below his chin. As a spotlight glares on him, his arms stretch sharply out to his side, with fireworks exploding in sync. He then walks methodically down to the ring, stopping just before he enters to stare at it. He then takes off his jacket and rolls into the ring.
JENKINS: And his opponent, from Newcastle, England ...weighing in at 235 pounds ...“The” Ross Walker!
The bell sounds and the two lock up. Benny takes Ross into a standing armbar, before quickly changing it to a wristlock. Ross spins out, countering with another wristlock. Benny rolls through and gets Ross into a wristlock. He then bends the arm, applying a hammerlock.
BETHEA: Both men are technically gifted.
BRIGGS: And so equal too. Both 6’2”, both around the 235 pound mark.
Benny then moves forward, quickly getting Ross into a headlock. Ross begins to elbow his way out of it. He then pushes Benny off into the ropes, who comes back with a hard shoulder tackle. Benny spins on one leg before shooting his fist into the air, taunting the booing crowd.
BETHEA: Benny seems proud of himself.
BRIGGS: And so he should, he just took down Ross.
Starr bounces off the ropes as Ross gets up. Ross leapfrogs and when Benny comes back, Ross hits him with an armdrag. Benny gets to his feet as Ross bounces off the ropes. He comes back and knocks Benny down with a shoulder tackle.
BETHEA: Shoulder tackle of his own.
Ross bounces off the ropes and Benny gets up and leapfrogs over him. He turns around and Ross hits another shoulder tackle. He bounces off the ropes. Benny gets to his feet, only to be knocked back down with another shoulder tackle. He rolls out of the ring.
BETHEA: Three shoulder tackles and Benny is outta here.
Mark Briggs moves over to Benny and begins to massage his shoulder. Benny begins to climb onto the apron and Ross begins to spin on one leg. He then shoots his fist into the air, staring at his opponent as the crowd cheer.
BRIGGS: What the...? He’s mocking Benny Starr?
BETHEA: Apparently so, TB, and his home country love it.
Benny slides into the ring. They begin to circle. They go to lock up, but Benny knees Ross in the stomach, following up with a second and a third. He quickly hooks Ross’ head and executes a snap suplex. He covers. ...1. Ross kicks out.
BRIGGS: And Benny is back in control.
Benny picks Ross up and raises him into the air before dropping him to the mat with a bodyslam. He covers again. ...1 ...Ross kicks out. Benny quickly picks him up against and sends him into the corner. He then charges at him, hitting a double knee, and whilst in mid-air, grabs Ross’ head and takes him down with a headlock takedown.
BRIGGS: What a move!
BETHEA: That’s the great lucha libre style that Benny adopted. Y’know he spent a lot of time in Mexico, wrestling for Chris Sharp in SSW.
BRIGGS: And now Sharp’s here in FWF, and what a terrific job he’s doing.
Ross’ shoulders are down, and so the referee begins to count. ...1 ...2. Ross lifts his arm up. He then begins to get to his feet. He elbows Benny in the stomach a few times, forcing him to break the hold. He then begins to run against the ropes, but Benny grabs his hair and pulls him to the mat.
BETHEA: He’s gonna get a warning from the ref for that one.
BRIGGS: It worked, didn’t it?
BETHEA: But will it work at Hotter than Hell against Prozac? It’s a British Rules match, and I highly doubt the referee will take too kindly to it.
Benny climbs the bottom turnbuckle. He then jumps off, hitting a knee drop. He gets up and climbs to the middle rope. This time, he connects with a fist drop. Benny then ascends to the top turnbuckle. He looks around, smiling. He then leaps off with the Picture Perfect Elbow, but Ross moves out of the way.
BRIGGS: No!
BETHEA: He moved!
Benny slowly gets up and Ross explodes at him with a lariat. Benny gets up, but gets knocked down with another lariat. Benny begins to get to his feet and Ross hooks his head. He then lifts him up and drops him with a Brainbuster.
BRIGGS: This can’t be good.
Mark Briggs gets on the apron, shouting. Ross then charges at him with a right hand, knocking him off, much to the delight of the crowd. Benny gets to his feet and as the referee checks on Briggs briefly, Ross turns around. Benny then nails the Super Strike. The referee begins to count. ...1 ...2 ...3 ...4 ...5 ...6 ...7 ...8 ...9 ...10.
BRIGGS: He did it!
JENKINS: The winner of the match as a result of a knockout ...“Super” Benny Starr!
Briggs gets into the ring, jumping around like a mad man. He then stomps Ross, who rolls out of the ring. The referee hands Benny his belt and a microphone.
BENNY: Y’know something. I really don’t care about that match. I have other things on my mind.
BETHEA: He does seem focussed.
BENNY: Prozac! You owe me an apology. Now, get to this ring right now!
The lights dim slightly. Then a red light surrounds the entrance on stage as “Fight Like This” by Decyfer down hits the P.A system. A moment later Prozac walks quickly out onto stage to a roaring crowd of chants and cheers. He is dressed in his wrestling bottoms and boots and a black Meds T-shirt. He stands on stage for a moment with a huge smile on his face as he looks over the crowd and taking in the cheers. He then beats his chest with both hands and yells. He begins walking down the ramp slapping hands with as many fans as he can. He climbs the stairs and enters the ring going between the ropes. He goes to a corner and climbs to the second turnbuckle and yells and beats his chest again with both hands. He then jumps down and goes to the middle of the right and looks around the arena. He takes off his shirt and throws it into the crowd. He then pumps up the crowd waving his hands for them to get louder. He then throws both arms up and faces each direction posing for the crowd.
BETHEA: Well, here comes the former Heavyweight World Champion.
BENNY: Well? What do you have to say for yourself?
PROZAC: At Jealousy, I was conducting an interview with Chris Knite. You interrupted me, I do believe, so if anything, you should be giving me the apology.
BRIGGS: Pfft.
BENNY: Now...
PROZAC: Hold on just a minute. I don’t hold a grudge for it, but I want to remind you of something you said. You said you were going to do something that I failed to do. You said you were going to beat the Predator.
BRIGGS: Double pfft.
PROZAC: Now, a few weeks ago on Monday Night Rampage, I lost to the Predator. He beat me and retained his title. But I’ll let that go. The Predator is one of, if not the, best professional wrestler this company has ever seen.
At the mention of this, the crowd begin to roar. A “Predator” chant begins and Prozac nods his head in agreement as Benny stands, looking enraged.
PROZAC: There is no shame in losing to that man, despite what you say. Which leads me to my next point. You also lost to the Predator in the Jealousy tournament.
BENNY: And we all know why, don’t we? Now, I haven’t got all day, so just apologise and get it over with.
PROZAC: I’ll get to that in a minute.
BENNY: You’ll get to that now!
Benny holds his microphone down to his side, as does Prozac as Benny forcefully gets in his face. The two stare down in the middle of the ring. Benny then lifts his microphone up.
BENNY: Chris Sharp has informed me that if you fail to apologise, then you will be fired.
BETHEA: What? That’s uncalled for.
BRIGGS: This business is about respect, Beast. Prozac should learn it.
PROZAC: Okay. I apologise. I apologise to my fans for letting them down recently. I apologise to you for what happened at Jealousy.
BRIGGS: There we go.
PROZAC: But most of all, Benjamin... I apologise... for this...
Suddenly, Prozac nails Benny over the head with the microphone. Mark runs at him, but Prozac kicks him in the stomach. He then executes the PDDT.
BRIGGS: No! He can’t do that to my boy!
BETHEA: He just did.
Benny gets up and takes Prozac down to the mat. He begins to deliver a wide range of forearm shots. Prozac then turns Benny over and delivers blows to Benny’s face as the crowd roar.
BETHEA: And the brawl begins!
BRIGGS: We need some help out here.
They continue to fight. Prozac gets to his feet and pulls Benny up, hitting him with a right hand. Benny pokes Prozac in the eye, forcing him to stumble back.
BETHEA: Right to the surgically repaired eye.
Benny then hooks Prozac from behind, about to hit a Russian Legsweep, but Prozac elbows Starr to the side of the head, forcing him to stumble back. The two look at each other for a moment before diving at each other.
BETHEA: If anyone in the back can here me, we need some help.
With the two brawling, security begin to run down the ramp. Six of them get into the ring, with three holding Benny back and three holding Prozac back into the corner. Prozac tries to calm himself down. He does so and the security loosen their grip.
BETHEA: Is this over?
Prozac then forcefully dives at Benny, hitting him with more right hands, taking him down to the mat. The two brawl until Benny eventually rolls out of the ring. Grabbing his title, he runs up the ramp with Briggs following. All security members dive on Prozac, holding him.
BETHEA: I can’t believe this.
BRIGGS: I can’t believe that these two are gonna get their hands on each other at Hotter than Hell!
With security still holding Prozac, he stares at Benny, who stares back. Benny raises his belt into the air with his left hand, and with his right, he points at himself as the scene fades to a commercial break.
